Brand Design & Development
Charge What You're Worth
A brand is what lets a buyer accept your price before they've compared you to three cheaper options. We build the identity, the guidelines, and the positioning underneath that — with a U.S.-based team, on a transparent points model.

Every Discount You Give Is a Brand Problem You Didn't Fix
Watch where a deal actually slips. It isn't usually the product. It's the moment a buyer puts you next to two competitors, can't articulate why you cost more, and asks for a number. Your rep gives it, because the alternative is losing the deal, and the discount comes out of margin that was supposed to fund next year.
That moment traces directly back to brand. Not to the logo — to whether the company presents as the obvious choice or as one of several similar options. A buyer who can't tell the difference will make the decision on the only axis that's legible to them, which is price.
The symptoms are recognizable. You're competing on price in a market where you're objectively better. Your sales team explains what makes you different in every call because the material doesn't. Your last three pieces of collateral look like they came from three companies. New hires describe what you do in three different ways.
None of that reads as urgent on its own. It just quietly caps what you're able to charge, and it gets slowly harder to fix as more material accumulates on top of the wrong foundation.
Our Approach
Positioning First, Then Pixels
Before a single visual decision, we establish who you win against, why, and what a buyer has to believe to pay your price. A logo that doesn't come out of that answer is decoration.
A brand system that only works when a designer applies it fails in the first month, because most of what your company produces is made by a salesperson in a hurry. We build for that reality — templates, rules, and defaults that hold up without supervision.
Brand work needs people who understand the vocabulary your buyers use and what your competitors already sound like. Ours are here and they'll interview your customers, not just your leadership.
We build the system, then you can run it in-house with our tools and templates, or keep us on for production. Most clients build the brand once with us and then move to ongoing graphic design at a much lower monthly spend.
What's Included
A System, Not a Logo File
Who you're for, what you replace, why you cost more, and the language that says it. This is the layer everything else is built on, and it's the piece most agencies skip because it isn't visual.
Primary and secondary marks, lockups, and the variations real life demands — a favicon, an embroidered polo, a trade show banner, a dark background. A logo that only works in one context isn't finished.
Color with accessible contrast pairs, type hierarchy, imagery direction, iconography, and layout principles. Specific enough to be followed, flexible enough to survive a campaign nobody anticipated.
The document that makes it usable — rules, examples, do's and don'ts, and correct files in every format someone will ask for. Written for a sales rep and a printer, not only for a design team.
Tone, vocabulary, the words you use and the ones you don't, boilerplate, and how the company describes itself in one sentence, one paragraph, and one page. This is what makes four different people sound like one company.
When you're replacing an existing identity, the rollout is the hard part — asset inventory, sequencing, what changes first, and how not to lose recognition you've already paid for. See web design for how the site side of a rebrand is handled.
What Your Points Buy
Brand Work, Priced in Points
Brand Identity & Logo System — 20 points.
Positioning, marks, lockups, and the core visual system. Run as a project, typically across two months of your balance.
Brand Guidelines Document — 13 points.
The usable system — rules, examples, and files.
Persona Development — 5 points.
The buyer model the positioning is built from. Bought once, early.
Brand is deliberately front-loaded. Most clients spend heavily here for a quarter and then drop to a much lighter ongoing allocation for production work.
Reallocate them next month if your priorities change.
How It Works
Six to Ten Weeks, Then It's Yours
Discovery & Positioning — weeks one through three
Leadership interviews, customer interviews, competitive audit, and the positioning work. You'll get pushback here if what you believe about your market doesn't match what your customers said — that friction is the most valuable part of the engagement.
Identity & System — weeks four through eight
Concept directions, then refinement on one, then the full system built out. Review gates you control, and a deliberately narrow set of options — three good directions beat twelve mediocre ones.
Guidelines & Rollout — weeks nine and ten
The guidelines document, every file format, and a sequenced rollout plan. Then it's yours to run, with or without us.

Is This a Fit?
Who This Is Built For
This is built for you if:
- You're losing deals on price in a market where you're genuinely better
- Your materials look like they came from several different companies
- You've outgrown an identity built when the company was much smaller
- You want the system, not just a logo file
This isn't the right fit if:
- You want a logo and nothing else — a marketplace will do that faster and cheaper
- Leadership can't agree on who the company is for
- You need it in two weeks
- You won't make time for customer interviews, which is where the real answers are
Common Questions
What Companies Ask About Brand
Isn’t this just a logo?
No, and the distinction matters commercially. A logo is one output. What determines whether you can hold your price is the positioning underneath it and the consistency on top of it. Companies that buy only the logo are usually back within eighteen months.
How long does it take?
Six to ten weeks for a full identity system. A guidelines-only project on an existing identity is faster. We'll scope it honestly on the call rather than compress it to win the work.
Can you refresh what we already have?
Often the better move. If the existing mark carries recognition worth keeping, we evolve rather than replace — cleaner execution, a proper system around it, and none of the recognition loss a full rebrand costs.
What happens after the brand is done?
Most clients move to ongoing graphic design at 5 points per asset set to produce campaign material against the new system. That is a much lighter monthly allocation than the build.
Do we own everything?
Yes — all files, all formats, source files included, full rights. No licensing arrangement, no ongoing fee to keep using your own identity.
Will you work with our existing designer?
Yes, and often that's the right structure — we build the system, they produce against it. It's the cheapest version of this for you and we'll say so when it applies.
Stop Discounting to Close
Two futures. In one, your sales team keeps explaining the difference on every call and giving ground on price when they can't. In the other, the material does that work before the call starts.
The audit is free and takes 30 minutes. You'll leave with an honest read on whether brand is your constraint or whether something else is.
